米国ニューヨークにて、Smallpox (天然痘、ほうそう) ウイルスが付着したドル紙幣が Black Friday (ブラックフライデー … 米国の感謝祭 Thanksgiving Day の翌日にあたる 11 月第四金曜。小売店ではセールなどが実施される) に合わせて出回り、爆発的な感染拡大が起きた。やがてこれはその感染形態から "Green Poison" または "The Dollla Flu" の通称で呼ばれ、マンハッタンには大規模な隔離区域が設けられた。
